Promotional materials for the exhibition at various venues in Seoul, 2008. Newsletter, 255 x 360 mm, 4 pp; invitation, 210 x 150 mm; leaflet, accordion-folded, 128 x 180 mm, 8 pp; magazine advertisement, various dimensions; on-site banners, various dimensions. The large-scale exhibition, organized by Samuso, was held at various galleries in Seoul simultaneously. We designed the logo to suggest the sense of wandering around the city, by using the graphic language of street sign with confusingly placed arrow marks. The subtitle of the exhibition, focused on non-visual experiences of art, was ‘I have nothing to say and I am saying it’: a quotation from John Cage’s famous lecture on nothing. We scanned a page of Cage’s book Silence (1961) where the quote was originally published, underlined the sentence to highlight it, and then used the image throughout.
