Sulki & Min
We’re working on our new website. Instead of promising a grand relaunch, we decided to keep the work in plain view. During the next few months, you’ll be able to see the changes taking place here: different themes, typographic styles and image treatments will be tried occasionally. It may happen very quickly. It may take a long time, and we might end up with something almost unchanged after all. In any case, you will see when it’s done that it’s done.

Politie

Politie Regular Politie Bold

Typeface, self-published, 2002. Politie is a monospace adaptation of the typeface Wim Crouwel designed in the 1960s for the typewriter manufacturer Olivetti, which was released after decades as digital fonts by the Foundry in London (Foundry Gridnik). Although neither the original nor the Foundry’s interpretation was designed as a fixed-width typeface, its rigid, modular letterform seemed apt for a monospace adaptation.

Politie in use
Although we made this typeface for ourselves and never sought to release it commercially (which would have been difficult anyway due to potentially complicated copyright issues), some of our close friends asked to use it for their projects. Such as these:

Lost & Found
Motion graphic for the event ‘Lost and Found’, Amsterdam, designed by Karel Martens, 2004.

Stamp
TPG Post postage stamp, designed by Jeff Ramsey at the Werkplaats Typografie, 2006
