
The former Dong-A Ilbo building in Gwanghwamun, now home to the Ilmin Museum, has witnessed South Korea’s modern history at the heart of the country’s social, political, economic, and cultural life. Released during the election season, the centennial banner uses colors that coincidentally match those of the two major parties, both of which have played vital roles in Korea’s political history. The incomplete series of shapes – based on the Ilmin Museum logo – suggests a history in the making, moving toward an uncertain future.
