It doubles as a specimen of Protoform, our first Korean typeface that revists the ideas of unsquared Hangeul, inspired by a 1976 essay by the pioneer of modern graphic design in Korea, Cho Young Jae.

This approach could potentially extend the meaning of unsquared Hangeul to a broader and richer constellation of twentieth-century design. (102)
