This is a proposal for Seoul TBS Bus exterior graphics we made as an entry to an invited competition. The following paragraph is from a text submitted with the proposal.
The air quality in Seoul is becoming more and more alarming. Given that motor vehicles significantly contribute to the air pollution, it would make sense for the design of the city’s public transportation system to show some awareness of the situation. The Aerocity Bus displays the actual pollution level on its own exterior skins. An air quality map of Seoul is generated based on annual data, and produced as a bus wrap. The design is updated every year to reflect the changing data. The clearer the air gets, the less exciting the design will become, but clean air would be worth the trade-off.
