Grayscale is part of our ongoing work with the theme of “infra-flat”, a concept to describe a sense of reversed depth possibly created by the forces that have been flattening the world when they have crossed the total-flat threshold. The two pseudo-photographs are based on tests charts designed to evaluate the truthful reproduction of grayscale images: an already impossible task, by the way, given that nothing is truly gray in the world.
