This video was made for Songeun’s first exhibition in its new space designed by Herzog & De Meuron and enumerates construction materials and techniques – from “cement mortar” to “wood flooring” – used in the building. Created with the Apple Keynote presentation tool, the emphasis is on the transition between items rather than the items themselves, as it displays Keynote’s native transition effects randomly mixed and overlaid. The names of the materials are interspersed with those of the very effects used in the video, such as “Blinds” or “Dissolve.” The agents of physical and visual transformation are intermingled in the flow.
