Announcement and exhibition graphics for Yale University School of Art Graphic Design MFA Thesis Show 2003, New Haven. Co-design by Yagi Chisa. Announcement: offset printing, 216 x 279 mm folding to 216 x 93 mm, put in a standard envelope; exhibition graphics: various mediums and sizes.
The theme of the exhibition was the non-color of gray as an active intermediary. The invitation shows the average color of each participant’s work, translated into the familiar numeric values, printed in gray. The format is derived from the bill, the subject of the year’s Visual Communication class taught by Paul Elliman.
The same numeric gray values are used on exhibition labels and graphics.
