The text consists of greeting messages collected from the exhibition catalogs published by the Arko Art Center, Arts Council Korea, from 1979 until 2009. Usually signed by directors or other high-ranking officials, the greeting messages mostly conform to formality rather than impart any substantial meaning. But the texts collected in this volume show visible changes in the highly conventionalized form during the three decades, as well as occasional deviations that read as idiosyncratic, absurd, or at times personal.
