Imminent Commons: Live from Seoul
The thematic title on the jacket is assembled from scattered fragments, or inversely, deconstructed to them, depending on your view of the contemporary city. The two layers of contrasting graphics – the light, geometric Korean thematic title and the heavy, condensed typography underneath – jointly convey the dual undertones of the theme: on one hand, the anticipation of more open and flexible future cities; and on the other, the matter-of-fact urgency of the imminent challenges. The pages are designed in such a way that the English and Korean editions would share most of the printing plates – except for the black plates for the text – to minimize the cost.
