Life-Being Stone-Tablets documents Shin Beomsum’s research on what he calls “Stone-Tablets that hold the story of Creation itself, recorded as pictograms.” Utilizing an idiosyncratic systems and terminology, the author “reads” the surfaces of found rocks and pebbles as if they are encoding profound stories about the mystery of life.
Published in association with the exhibition of Shin’s project at the Singapore Biennale 2022, the book presents his shamanisitic findings with Kim Kyoungtae’s photographs and Kwon Koon’s paintings, as well as his own diagrammatic drawings and commentaries.
The book is published in two editions with different covers, both showing details of Kwon Koon’s paintings.
