Platform Seoul 2008
Exhibition catalog
offset lithograph, adhesive-bound
205 x 280 mm, 304 pp
Platform was an annual art exhibition shown at venues dispersed around Seoul. The sign-like title treatment suggests a sense of wandering in the city. Platform 2008 was focused on performances and theatricality, and the theme – “I have nothing to say and I am saying it” – was borrowed from John Cage. We directly scanned the source of the quotation from Cage’s book Silence (1961) and incorporated it into the the graphic identity, with the quoted sentence highlighted by an underline. Further graphic elements were introduced in the catalog, to suggest the idea of stage direction.
