Seoul Biennale 2017: Brochure

Brochure for Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2017, directed by Pai Hyungmin and Alejandro Zaera-Polo. Korean and English editions, offset printing, saddle-stitching with cover, page size 120 x 180 mm, 16 pp.

The thematic title is assembled from scattered fragments, or inversely, deconstructed to them, depending on your view of the contemporary city. The two layers of contrasting graphics — the light, geometric Korean thematic title and the heavy, condensed typography underneath — jointly convey the dual undertones of the theme: on one hand, the anticipation of more open and flexible future cities; and on the other, the matter-of-fact urgency of the imminent challenges.
