Dinosaur, Second Edition, 2018. Digital printing on inflatables, 3 parts, 70 x 70 x 200 cm each. Exhibited in A Tale of Two Cities: Narrative Archive of Memories II, a 7½ project curated by Oh Sunyoung and presented at Gimhae Arts and Sports Center, 8–29 March 2018.
This is another version of Dinosaur, a Korean translation of El dinosaurio (1959) by Augusto Monterroso Bonilla—one of the shortest novels in the world. The original seven-word Spanish story (“Cuando despertó, el dinosaurio todavía estaba allí.”) is translated into seven Korean words, and presented through the medium of street advertising: a set of five banner signs for the first edition, and three internally-lit inflatables for this second edition.
