Sasa[44]: Wadangtangtungtang / Rehab 190116–200115

Sasa[44]’s exhibition Wadangtangtungtang was created mainly for children and families, with the theme of shopping and everyday consumption. The title treatment reflects this theme with the “POP hand,” a highly stylized Korean letterform used in impromptu signs at various “points of purchase.” The type arrangement – the layers of words clumsily stacked on top of each other – suggests the possibility of collapse, which is also hinted at by the show’s title (a Korean echoic word that describes the loud sound of objects hitting the ground).

The first print of the poster also carried Sasa[44]’s Rehab 190116–200115, a detailed record of the artist’s daily diets, on the back. The copies were available at the venue.
